This
year’s programme is very diverse.
Recent works will be shown, such as the opener A
COSTA DOS MURMÚRIOS, a moving Portuguese film on the
colonial war, which received its world premiere in September at
the Venice film festival, and EL
SÉPTIMO DÍA, Carlos Saura’s newest film,
first shown at the Cannes film festival in May. NOVIEMBRE
was one of the audience favourites at 2004's Rotterdam film festival.
VAI E VEM is
(literally) the last film from the idiosyncratic Portuguese filmmaker
João César Monteiro. Two documentary sessions focusing
on current problems also deserve a special mention: a screening
of two Portuguese films about migrations
and LA PELOTA
VASCA, LA PIEL CONTRA LA PIEDRA, Julio Medem’s controversial
documentary on the Basque conflict.
After the sessions you can relax at the Lumen cafe enjoying a Spanish
and Portuguese atmosphere. |
