16-year old Taño receives a special 48-hour pass away from reform school in Seville to attend his brothers wedding. Of course he tries to do everything he is forbidden to do at the school: getting drunk, taking drugs, stealing, having sex. But slowly it seems that everything around him has changed. The sublime performance by Juan José Ballesta captures the shifting moods of adolescents walking the line between male bravado and teenage insecurity. Sensuous North African rhythms and Andalusian superstitions add atmosphere to this coming-of-age film.
